DESIGN INFLUENCE PODCAST

Season III/Episode 5: Communities, Networks and Ecosystems - Platforms for Change

Thank you, Isabelle Swiderski, for having Orange Sparkle Ball founder, Meaghan Kennedy, on the Design Influence podcast. They talked through some of the some of the work we're doing at Orange Sparkle Ball around understanding networks/communities/ecosystems and designing precision interventions based on what's happening in the network.

“What I’ve found — and this has held true in, you know, the entirety of my career — is: if you can’t get to people understanding what you’re saying and how it can solve their problem, it really doesn’t matter what you’re talking about. So my — beef might be a little too strong, but maybe not — with language like systems change and systems innovation is, it’s very academic and there’s no way when I look at that, I think: ‘Oh, I can solve my problem with systems change,‘ so there’s no cognitive attachment point for me in that language. It’s a way to talk about something that means you don’t really have to figure out how to make it actionable.”
